    • An article with a toutorial on making DIY MIDI brains/PCBs

An article that fully explains how to make/design MIDI brains/PCBs for people who what to break the limits of the few MIDI brains out there and bring out new ideas for the MIDI world.
      this article could include:

a full explenation of how a brain/PCB works

a list of parts a brain/PCB can have (and what they do)

a simple video on how to make one e.g soldering, placing etc etc could be awesome (this video could be made by the guy who designed the MIDI fighter PCB)

all of this in a language we can all understand ;P

      • Next MIDI mapping - NI Maschine

I love the series on MIDI mappings, and I think DJTT can be a great library of the best mappings.

I can supply a few Maschine mappings I have collected from around the web, and have helped to develop and you can choose one for the next MIDI mapping release in your weekly/monthly feature.

        • Traktor S4 Mapping > Effects - Isolator Deck 3/4

I wanna have a Mapping, which allows me to control which area (highs, mids, lows) I wanna change with my effects. I would play tracks on decks 1 and 2 and use the EQs and Filters from deck 3 and 4 to control the effects.
          Is that possible?

          • Makey Makey: make your own midi controllers out of anything that conducts electricity

There is this really cool/cheap kit called makey makey which allows you to control your computer using anything that conducts electricity. For instance you could draw out a grid on a piece of paper alligator clip each square to makey makey and you have yourself a midi controller! Check it out http://www.makeymakey.com/

                      • How to approach record labels & get your tracks singed.

It would be great to do a article on the do's and don't of how to go about getting your tracks signed to a record label.

Maybe you can get some inside advise form big artists and top labels.

Also you should include a pice on some new creative ways to approach this task.
And for all the new producers like my self it will also be solid if this article gave a brief intro on how the music industry works, in terms of record deals, track signing and copy rites and so on.

The method of emailing your track…

                        • DJTT mapping updates - It'd be nice to see some.

It would be nice if DJTT updated their mappings more often (especially MF mappings), instead of relying on the user community to update them. They release a new mapping and tout how they'll be updating it, but that rarely happens. At a minimum bug fixes would be nice, but updating their mappings to reflect new Traktor functionality (e.g. macro FX) would be nice too.

                          • Controlling the Remix Decks of traktor pro with one program for every controller

Some of you know me of the article on DJTECHTOOLS of "four hacker projects unlock traktor remix decks".
I've worked out my project to a single .exe file
                            features:
                            1) first time a guided setup of your midi controller (with interface)
                            2) other times are the preferences loaded automaticly, so no setup everytime
                            3) for every controller
                            4) I can make a midi-fighter version for you guys.
                            5) It's free (no surveys, no adds. I did it just for the fame ^^)
This is pc only (at the moment....)

                            • Awesome new groovebox app

                              Hi guys,

A couple of days ago I ran across a pretty unique-looking app for creating music. Normally, an app wouldn't have made me post this here, but this one really caught my attention because of the ease this app offers in terms of controls, versatility and the quite humble price for which I purchased it.

In any case, the app is called BeatSpiral and I think it really is worth checking out. Then again, perhaps I just got overexcited about it, but hey, you guys be the judge of that.

I also found this demo video which helped me…

                              • the process of creating a controllerist routine - song/loop selection, which parts to mix together, etc.

How you think of a controllerist routine, which songs to use together and why, how to prepare different samples and sections, basically the whole process behind making your own routines.

                                • How to use effects to get better crowd reaction - guide

There is a huge list of effects (on Traktor at least), and it is hard to decide when and why to use them in order to make an impression on the crowd. It is not hard to apply an effect on your mix, the hard part is to apply the effect at the right time in order to obtain best results. I know this can very well be something that every DJ does and it becomes somewhat of a characterizing part of his/her style, but there is a general consensus on a number of technics that can be thought of…

                                      • Review: Liquid Rhythm by WaveDNA

Liquid Rhythm is a software drum machine that enables rapid beat-building and provides tools for deep MIDI manipulation. It uses a 'building-blocks' approach that allows groups of notes to be inserted, moved, accented, or otherwise altered all at once. The unique MIDI visualization, using colors and shades to indicate metric weighting ('downbeats vs offbeats'), shows which notes share important relationships that can be changed together (or 'in concert' with one another).

The Liquid Rhythm system can also generate lists of suggested beats built out of sets of similar or related building-blocks for inserting quick variations on the fly. Deeper features…

                                        • Options for Tinnitus Treatment for DJ's Who Already Have Tinnitus

DJ Tech Tools has already featured an excellent post with practical tips for the prevention of tinnitus (http://www.djtechtools.com/2012/05/20/tinnitus-a-real-problem-for-every-dj/#disqus_thread).

Tinnitus, commonly referred to as a "ringing in the ears," is the presence of sound in the absence of external input.

However, many DJ's already have tinnitus and are seeking an overview of some of the options available for treatment.
