The Question I have about this is what kind of WIKI. Public, where everyone can contribute? Or just a big long list with all the info in one place?

  4. Intro's and Outro's

This might be a basic question but what is the length of time you generally mix an outro and intro of a new song before fading over to the new song? What is the best practice, 64, 32, 16, 8?

Also different technics using the same song to overlay into the new song, i.e. keeping the highs or the mids or both from the previous song

I know this is very general but looking for some advice.

  5. External Mixer Mode (Traktor)

For all us old school vinyl junkies. How to get the most out of my 1200's along with my midi controllers in Traktor 3.3/ Traktor Scratch. There are certain bugs and limitations with this mode. (I believe you mentioned one bug previously, track tempo reverts when you cue/ jump to another cue).

  6. Ableton Live Tutorial

I love all your Tutorials about mixing and Traktor - but i'm curious how you do things in Ableton Live.

I would love to see a Tutorial about it - the best would be if it would range from Basic Mixing to Professional Stuff with all Effects etc...

Ultimately you could combine it with a small part about integrating Traktor into Live (i know there's already a post about that, but maybe you could do a quick glance at that).

  8. Novation Nocturn & Traktor

many people on NI's traktor forums are dying for some help with integrating the Novation Nocturn into their sets. it's a fantastic controller and looks just perfect for Traktor by the layout and premise, but nobody seems to have gotten it working quite perfectly yet. would be great if you did a tutorial on this.

  9. Build a midi controller

Build a midi controller (together with a company Vestax or Allen & Heath).

    - No integrated soundcard
    - Full control for 4 decks and effects
    - Allen & Heath build quality
    - Led and/or Led Display feedback on the mixer
    - Preferably < 1000$

Agreed the vci-100 and especially the Ean Golden edition is a really nice piece of hardware but it doesn't compare against a Xone 3D. The Xone 3D isn't affordable for most people though, and there is nothing on the market that's worth it under that price imo.

This idea sounds crazy but I would probably buy…

  12. xone reviews

I think your site is missing some of the greatest and most profesional dj tech tools, the Allen&Heath xone series. I agree, they are not really cheap and easy to carry around... But hell the xone:92 combined with two 1Ds look like the perfect setup to me. Their unmatched quality and robustness allows to go really wild mixing without being afraid of breaking the equipment; their complete, clean and generic layout allows you to fully customize the setup to your needs and last but not least it's a very modular approach allowing you to upgrade or exchange parts instead of…

  14. Ubuntu Edge

"The Ubuntu Edge is the next generation of personal computing: smartphone and desktop PC in one state-of-the-art device."
    http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ubuntu-edge

In the current Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 Video Review Ean once again encouraged us to drop the laptop and focus on the dj hardware instead. What if we didn't need a laptop anymore? What if our phones where poweful enough to do the hard work. The Ubuntu Edge campain is an attempt to bring us a phone like that and already broke crowdfunding records. But it is still a long way to go. Make sure you look into the campain and…

  15. Fundraising for Grassroots Grid Controller Music Festival

So my name is Myles Borins, when I perform I'm known as "TheAlphaNerd"

I have been planning a grassroots music festival with a buddy of mine named Francis Watson, who resides in Santa Fe. The two of us are currently fundraising to send 13 artists from around North America to Santa Fe for the weekend and provide accommodations. The fundraising will also raise the money needed to make the event happen. The whole event has been planned using a variety of cloud based tools such as Google Docs, Wordpress, Skype, and Kickstarter. Most of the artists have never met before,…

  17. How to use multiple beatgrids for difficult tracks?

Hi Ean. We already have a tutorial about how to setup a perfect beatgrid. I would like to see how it works in difficult tracks where you need to put in more than one beatgrid. Thanks.

  19. ArchMount iPad mounts -- ultraportable $22 mounts on Kickstarter

Please look into our musician / DJ-friendly iPad mount! Everybody has seen the precariously balanced iPad during sessions and gigs. Now I and two friends have designed a mount friendly to the average musician / DJ. It is economical ($22), and friendly to your gig-bag (it is only 3.5 oz and pocketable). The ArchMount is available on Kickstarter, a crowdfunding site for less than 2 more weeks. The ArchMount combines molded plastic and bungee, and connects to any 1/4-20 screw. You can use this on mic stands, on stand-alone tripods or mini-tripods to turn your iPad into a real hands-free…

  20. Article on Sounds Quality: 128/320kbs mp3 v Wav v Vinyl

There are always heated debates on forums over the difference in quality between Vinyl, Wav’s, 320kbs Mp3’s and lower quality mp3’s and whether is makes a difference on a big club system etc. I like to hear a professional industry opinion.
